Situated just west of the Chicago River and the downtown Loop, the West Loop has transformed from the gritty industrial hub in the mid 1800s into a 21st century tech hub and a sought after neighborhood. Though the Great Depression took its toll on the area, substantial investment since the late 1980s has breathed new life into it.
